Gabriella Muir is one of the industry’s most respected and experienced freelance editors with a career spanning over twenty five years and an extensive and diverse body of work traversing film, television series, documentaries, web series, music videos and television commercials. During this time she honed her craft, excelling in performance driven and narrative based work and as a result established on-going creative partnerships with a number of celebrated Australian directors including Kriv Stenders and Justin Kurzel.
Gaby has just completed an original SBS series, While the Men are Away as sole series editor.
Gaby was also lead editor on the acclaimed THE END 2020, a 10- part drama series co-pro with Sky UK and Foxtel produced by Seesaw which aired in both Australia and Britain to stellar reviews. She was nominated for best comedy editing by the Australian Screen Editors Guild.
Gaby began her foray into features when she worked with director Kriv Stenders crafting the unique indie feature film BLACKTOWN (2005) which went on to win the 2005 Sydney Film Festival coveted Audience Award. She collaborated with Kriv again in 2006 on the ground-breaking feature film, BOXING DAY (2006) (Adelaide Film Festival Premiere and Jury Special Mention/ Best Actor Award at the Busan and Montreal Nouveau Cinema International Film festivals). Continuing their creative partnership Kriv and Gaby joined forces on a third feature, LUCKY COUNTRY (2009) which received two AFI nominations as well as being in Official Selection for Adelaide, Cork, Montreal, Palm Springs and St Tropez film festivals. In 2010, she extended her craft into documentary with the critically acclaimed AFI winner YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE (2010). Gaby edited for director Nick Robertson on the feature horror movie for the American market THE PACK (2015)
Gaby is currently about to commence work with Kriv again on BUMP Season 3 and is completing a TikTok Screen Australia funded drama series. She has numerous attachments to film and television projects in development.
