FULL MEMBERSHIP
Available to individuals who are employed or contracted as a picture editor, assistant editor, compositor, screen graphic designer, or visual effects editor.
Where no on screen credit or other documented proof has been given, further evidence may be required outlining details of work completed in the specified role(s). All applicants must supply at least one professional referee.
An Editor, Visual Effects Editor, Designer or Compositor is defined to be a person with creative and technical expertise who is responsible for manipulating images and/or sound into an aesthetic and/or cohesive professional motion picture, televisual production or multi media production (or parts thereof) for public or industrial exhibition.
The definition, Assistant Editor, may also encompass those involved in professional broadcast VTR operation and media-management.
ANNUAL RATES
- Income band 1 ($50,000 or under) – $165 (incl. GST) Join Now
- Income band 2 ($50,001 – $100,000) – $220 (incl. GST) Join Now
- Income band 3 (over $100,001) – $275 (incl. GST) Join Now
The tiered fee arrangement is an honesty system.
- Members are not asked to disclose their actual income.
- Many of us work project-to-project, so it is based on an averaged annual income for the preceding year or an estimation of what you will earn in the year ahead if you think it will be substantially different.
- A member’s tier is not made public or shared, and the data is protected in accordance with our privacy policy.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Associate membership is for anyone who does not fit into either the student or full categories. It is perfect for those who are emerging or early career, and are looking for craft development opportunities and the chance to network with other editors and members of the industry. It also suits anyone working adjacent to editors, including (but not limited to) sponsors and other industry guild members. Eligible post production creatives include:

- Assistants
- Post Production Supervisors
- Post Producers
- VFX Editors
- Colourists
Associate membership is a great way of becoming part of the editing community while you are growing skills and experience as you move towards gaining professional credits.

Available to persons undertaking a full time course in screen editing, postproduction or gaining work experience in the postproduction industry.
Only Full Members are eligible to vote, apply for accreditation and take part in the mentor scheme.
