Matias Bolla

Matias is an Australian-Chilean Editor based in Sydney.

Matias is passionate about bringing the stories of his upbringing and heritage to the world. In 2020 Matias co-edited the feature documentary film Wash My Soul in the River’s Flow directed by Philippa Bateman about iconic singer/songwriters Archie Roach and Ruby Hunter which premiered at Sydney Film Festival.

Matias was the writer of the Chilean segment of the feature film anthology Here Out West which was the opening film of the Sydney Film Festival in 2021.

Matias’ short film Campesinos about Patagonian Gauchos was selected for 11 International film festivals including Evolution! Mallorca International Film Festival (Winner Best Short Documentary); Made in the West Film Festival (Winner Best Film, Audience Choice, Best Cinematography and Best Original Score); Sydney Lift-Off Film Festival (Winner Best Local Film) and was also selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick in 2020.

Matias recently co-created, co-directed and edited a documentary food series for ABC titled ‘8 Nights Out West’ set for broadcast in August 2022.

Matias has also worked as an Assistant Editor to Nick Meyers on feature films Palm Beach & The Dry.

Matias is fluent in English & Spanish.
