BIO
“I enjoy cutting all kinds of factual and documentary films and programs - especially feature documentaries, but I would happily accept the challenge of cutting some scripted drama projects. I'm also honoured to have been involved in cutting many First Nations films.
In 2024 I was an AACTA AWARDS WINNER, along with my Co-Editors, Andrea Lang ASE and Mark Atkin ASE for Best Editing in a Documentary for The Australian Wars, directed by Rachel Perkins. This series also won the 2024 AACTA for Best Documentary or Factual Program and Best Direction in Non Fiction Television
My credits as a feature documentary editor include The Carnival (2023) The Skin of Others (2020) for which I received an ASE nomination for Best Editor in a Feature Documentary, It All Started with a Stale Sandwich (2019), Night Parrot Stories (2016), Suzy and the Simple Man (2016), and A Common Purpose (2012).
I have also edited major TV factual series - most recently The Matildas - World at Our Feet for Disney+ (2022), Lead Editor on And We Danced (ABC 2021), Two Scottish Vets Down Under (BBC/ABC 2020), the AACTA award winning ABC-TV series Life on the Reef (2015), and Once Upon a Time in Punchbowl (SBS 2014).
I have also turned my hand to directing and my debut documentary film as director, Champion Girls (2019), explored the Australian “girls and ladies only” sport of Physie, and screened on ABC TV for International Women’s Day in 2020.
I strongly believe in the vital role that documentary can play as a tool of education and advocacy, and seek to bring distinctive voices and perspectives to public attention.I have spent many years as an educator with the Documentary Australia Foundation’s Youth and Education programs and I am mother to two young storytellers with their own unique views on life. Based in the Southern Highlands of NSW, in 2018 I was the recipient of the Veolia Mulwaree Trust’s Creative Arts Scholarship.”
