Mike Honey has a wide experience of post production spanning several decades and has spent many years as a film editor working in both Australia and Canada on award winning drama and documentary projects.

He has edited eight feature films and been nominated for three AFI awards for the The Custodian directed by John Dingwall, Waiting directed by Jacki McKimmie and Rebel directed by Michael Jenkins.

He has worked with directors such as Di Drew, Ann Turner, Michael Pattinson, Ken Cameron, Gale Edwards and Ian Barry and with producers such as Sandra Levy and Steve Knapman.

His television work includes The Leaving of Liverpool, GP, Spring and Fall and The Scales of Justice. Mike was one of the first editors to embrace non-linear editing in Australia working on Touch Vision at Spectrum Films Willoughby.

While at the ABC he worked in TV Features headed by Alan Bateman and was responsible for a number of television series which were considered by many at the time to be landmark shows — In the Wild with Harry Butler Peach’s Australia (Bill Peach), Torque with Peter Wherrett and Journey Into India with Keith Adams

For the last 17 years he has concentrated on Post Production Management at Spectrum Films, advising and guiding feature film productions and television programs.

Mike is extremely knowledgeable about all things post. That combined with his care and an ability to communicate with incredible grace made him a joy to work with on all levels.
