Paul Murphy is a Melbourne-based film editor and writer with over 20 years of experience in post-production.

He began his career after studying writing at Box Hill TAFE, where an early interest in screenwriting led him to discover film editing - one that draws on the same craft and discipline of writing, with the added creativity of working with pictures, sound, and music.

He co-wrote and edited Blind Ambition (2022), which won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival, and edited Red Obsession (2013), narrated by Russell Crowe, which won the AACTA Award for Best Feature Documentary. His recent work includes the sci-fi thriller In Vitro (2024), starring Ashley Zukerman (Succession), which premiered at the Sydney Film Festival, and the SXSW-premiering documentary Secret Mall Apartment (2024), directed by Jeremy Workman and executive produced by Jesse Eisenberg.

Paul has cut a wide range of feature films and documentaries, with festival selections including TIFF, Tribeca, SXSW, and SFF. He is also the writer and host of The Conspiracy Tapes, a podcast series produced by Sony Music Entertainment.
