Alexander Archer

Originally from Melbourne, I moved to England in 1991 for a two year break to see the other side of the world. After 8 months of back packing around Europe followed by a couple of years working in pubs, I began work in a London production company, Clark TV, as an edit assistant. I now have experience editing broadcast television going back to 1995, and have been successfully employed on a freelance basis since 1998. After nearly 22 years in the UK I returned to Australia at the end of 2012. I have worked on a wide range of short and long form / feature length projects, including factual, observational, natural history, historical and science based documentaries, dramatic reconstruction or docudrama, reality, and weekly and daily fast turn round current affairs programs. Documentary films that I have cut have won several awards, including two Emmys, a Peabody, an AIB, a du-Pont Columbia Silver Baton and several Royal Television Society awards and ATOM awards.
I pride myself on having always had extremely good working relationships and have worked many times with the same directors, and I am comfortable working on my own as shooting continues. I have worked extensively with both English, Australian and US broadcasters, including BBC1, 2, 3 and 4, Channel 4 and 5 and ITV, SBS, ABC, Foxtel and Channels 7 and 10, National Geographic, Discovery, PBS and History, as well as Chinese ( CCTV ), and Japanese ( NHK ). Below is a sample of films that I have cut.
I have my own edit suite, using Avid and Premier Pro, and have graded in Resolve.
