Karen Pearlman
Karen Pearlman cuts documentary, drama, webseries, and innovative interactive stuff whenever possible. She has a special focus on cutting dance and has developed an extensive cv of cutting dancefilms, including three nominations for best editing at the ASE Awards for the work she has done with her company Physical TV. Karen is Head of Screen Studies at AFTRS, a former president of the Australian Screen Editors Guild and the author of "Cutting Rhythms, Shaping the Film Edit" published by Focal Press. Karen's blog (karenpearlman.net) has posts about editing and other aspects of screen arts and production, and she also writes on these topics for for Lumina, the AFTRS Journal of Screen Arts and Business. Issue 11 of Lumina, released in April 2013, includes her article: "Editing and the Vulcan Mind Meld" (http://www.aftrs.edu.au/explore/lumina.aspx).
