The ASE would like to congratulate all the Oscar winners of Mad Max Fury Road who together managed to win six Academy Awards for Best Film Editing, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing, surpassing all other films at this years Oscars ceremony, and broke the record for the most wins for an Australian film in the Academy Awards.
So from us, a huge congratulations to Margaret Sixel, Editor, who also recently won a BAFTA, an ACE and an Australian Film Critics circle Award for her work on Mad Max Fury Road.

The ASE are proud of the whole editorial team which included some note-able ASE Members - our past president Jason Ballantine ASE, and Mark Perry, with Matt Town and Nicole Thorn, Kelly Cameron and Cindy Rodriguez. They all had a huge task supporting the multi-layered visual narrative. Also in the shoot phase, helping to deliver live feeds, Jack Swart, ASE Lifetime member spent 9 months out on location.
