We got in touch this month with long standing ASE sponsor DDP Studios (formally Digital Pictures) and asked them about their unique approach to post production and some of the big issues in the industry.

We are here because we love great stories & we're passionate about helping film & television makers tell their stories in the best possible way.

Our clients are Cinematographers, Editors, Directors & Producers. All of them bring energy & inspiration to our work.

Working in the creative realm has it challenges; we must always be flexible & adaptable but most importantly we must treat every idea differently. We design unique solutions for each client & each project.

At DDP Studios one of our core purposes is to provide our support & expertise specifically to Editors. Essentially we are your roadies. We're here to make your job as easy as possible by removing the technical barriers & prepping your content so that you can fully focus on cutting a bloody great story.

We are not a cookie cutter post shop – in fact we never do anything the same way. We can be on-set, support remote edit suites & provide a comfortable home for Editors in one of our three studios & variety of suites. Our team always questions how we can continuously imporve servicing projects & people by applying our knowledge & inventing new solutions that create efficiencies & improve quality on screen.

So with that in mind it is not a stretch for us to be a long-term passionate supporter of the ASE. The ASE provides Australian Editors the collective opportunity to evolve their craft, celebrate their talent & achievements & ensure they have a strong voice that is well represented in the industry – we are thrilled to continue to work with you.

The Australian Film & Television Industry has always done it tough & 2013 is no exception. Particularly challenging for the post-production sector is diminishing budget allocation to post-production line items coupled with an expectation for retained service & quality. Add to that the elimination of offshore productions shooting in Australia, & limited Australian feature films going into production – post-production companies are under significant financial strain. This economic fact has resulted in us having to become much more lean & nimble whilst working hard to remain focussed on retaining quality processes & output. It's exhausting but our passion hasn't waned.

At DDP Studios we add value to the creative process through providing efficient digital workflows, sound technical advice & excellence in craft. We are the best post-production talent collaborating with film & television makers on their inspired ideas.

Our heritage lies with Australia’s most highly regarded post brands; CornerPost, Digital Pictures, Deluxe Melbourne & EFilm.

DDP Studios has three best-in-industry post-production studios in Crows Nest, Lane Cove & South Melbourne & is powered by Deluxe’s global technical capability & expertise.
